Hey guys, my name is Shawn Moran and I am an amateur photographer from Wilmington Massachusetts. For as long as I can remember I have loved taking pictures. When I was young my aunt gave me my first Polaroid camera and the best feeling in the world was being able to see the pictures that were just taken be printed instantly right before my eyes. Growing up I loved using those disposable cameras that you would buy at the pharmacy, and even though the image quality was pretty terrible it still was a lot of fun! Eventually smartphone technology took over and now everyone has access and the ability to take very good quality photos whenever they want.

Although my love for photography is something that has always been with me, I didn't really get serious about it until recently. A few years back I moved to Boston where I went to college at the University of Massachusetts Boston and majored in Criminology and minored in Political Science. I have since graduated with my bachelors in Criminology, and although I love that field of interest very much, photography has always been my passion. Being able to live in the city and explore its beauty at my leisure truly is what has inspired me take my photography from my cell phone camera to a DSLR camera.

I love being able to capture a scene that will quite literally never happen again. Think about that. Every time you take a picture the image that you capture in your camera can never be recreated. Whether it be a car driving down a highway or something as simple as a certain cloud pattern, that photo that you just took, that scene that you just captured is yours forever, it belongs to you.

So why print photos? Why not just save them by the thousands on your computer or phone? Well, paper prints are different than just a picture on a screen. When you print a picture and hang it on your wall, or place it on your desk, you're making the conscience decision to spend money and to put the time and effort into displaying that photo the way that you want so that you can see that picture all the time. You do it because you love how it looks, or because it reminds you of a place that has a certain meaning to you. There's just a different feeling to a photo printed onto paper than to that of a photo on a screen that you'll probably swipe past without really ever noticing. We print photos because we want to display a moment in time that we will never get back, we do it because we want to feel good about something, and most importantly we do it because photos mean something to us, all of us, whether we know that or not.

So there's my story, or atleast most of it. You get the idea.
